European Involved Projects

CONVINcE (Celtic-Plus, 2014-2017)

CONVINcE (Consumption OptimizatioN in VIdeo NEtworks) will address the challenge of reducing the power consumption in IP-based video networks with an end-to-end approach, from the Head End where contents are encoded and streamed to the terminals where they are consumed, embracing of course the CDN and the core and access networks.

Fuse-IT (ITEA, 2014-2017)

FUSE-IT is an ITEA2 project: ITEA is the EUREKA Cluster programme supporting innovative, industry-driven, pre-competitive R&D projects in the area of Software-intensive Systems & Services (SiSS). ITEA stimulates projects in an open community of large industry, SMEs, universities, research institutes and user organisations.

reTHINK (H2020, 2015-2017)

The main goal of the reTHINK project is to design and prototype a new, non telecom centric, but Web-centric P2P Service Architecture enabling dynamic trusted relationships among distributed applications called Hyperlinked Entities (“Hyperties”) that support use-cases beyond commoditized telephony such as contextual and social communications, M2M/IoT and content oriented services. This project will enable any type of service delivery through specialized end-to-end network quality commitments, powered by specialized P2P and/or Cloud services (delivered as SaaS, PaaS or IaaS).

WISE IoT (H2020, 2016-2018)

WISE IoT (Wordwide interobability for semantics IoT) is a collaboration project between Europe and Korea. For EU side, it is funded under the H2020 framework program for research of the European Commission. It aims at deepening the interoperability and interworking of IoT existing systems. Use cases driven, the project will use the experiences available in the consortium to build a comprehensive mediation framework that can be used between various IoT systems.

eCOUSIN (EU FP7, 2012-2015)

eCousin (enhanced COntent distribUtion with Social INformation) goal is the design a novel social-aware network architecture with built-in content dissemination functionalities that exploits the social-content interdependencies for improving its efficiency.

TWIRL (ITEA, 2012-2014)

TWIRL (Twinning virtual World (on-line) Information with Real world (off-Line) data sources) project aims at creating an open platform able to process, mine, interlink and fuse data originating from real world applications and on-line data sources. It will augment real world applications with knowledge extracted from virtual data sources.
